We’re taking steps to make a positive difference by reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to a circular economy. With our scale and network we have a real opportunity to make a positive impact.
HOW WE SUPPORT OUR CLIENTS’ GOALS
Our refurbished machines are an attractive offer for clients with high standards on sustainability.

MAKING THE CHANGE TO A CIRCULAR ECONOMY
REFURBISHING OUR MACHINES
Of all the vending machines we install, 47% are refurbished to the highest standards. This provides like-new quality while greatly reducing our environmental footprint and avoiding industrial waste.
REUSING AND RECYCLING CUPS
We supply 1.5 billion cups for our consumers. All of our cups are recyclable and every paper cup is either PEFC or FSC certified.
Our SelectaGreen cup post-back service collects and responsibly recycles clients’ paper cups. We’re also trialling reusable cups, for which we manage the full lifecycle.
MAKING USE OF COFFEE WASTE
We can make good use of coffee grounds from our machines and roastery, for example as soil components or renewable energy sources. In partnership with urban farming projects, our coffee grounds are used in growing oyster mushrooms for local restaurants.
MINIMISING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
USING TELEMETRY TO OPTIMISE ROUTES
We look after nearly half a million vending machines across Europe. With telemetry, we can monitor stock and machine condition remotely, and plan journeys dynamically to minimise travel.
OPTIMISING OUR LOGISTICS NETWORK
We can further reduce journeys and the impacts of our transportation activities, by optimising the locations of our distribution centres. In France and Switzerland, we’ve already relocated some of our warehouses, as part of a Europe-wide programme.
We’re working to minimise the carbon footprint of the 6,900+ vehicles we use daily to serve our clients. Through our Alternative Fuel Vehicles project we’ve been making the switch to more environmentally friendly hybrid and electric cars.
In 2020 we committed to making our company benefit cars fully electric by the end of 2025, with the further goal of achieving an entirely electric, zero-emissions vehicle fleet by 2030.
As we migrate to our new website, you'll see a mix of new and old page designs for a while, we call it Joy to Go.
